Social activities for people with sight loss, in the Brighton and Hove AreaArgus Charity of the year 2008 |
Each year the Argus makes presentations to individuals and groups who have made a significant contribution to their communities or who have shown courage in the face of adversity
We were thrilled to be nominated as Charity of the year and invited to the awards ceremony at the Theatre Royal in Brighton on June 24th 2008, we were even more elated when our name was read out as the winner and presented with a plaque by Nick Owen and a cheque for £1000 from Legal and General.
The citation on the plaque which we were presented said:
“With hundreds of charities all vying for our money it is difficult to choose which to support. But in City Synergy Sussex has a gem”.

The award is a tribute to all our members and volunteers past and present who have contributed to our success to date and a real encouragement as we seek to develop the group for the future
Amongst the tributes received were the following

"Congratulations Paul and all
the members of City Synergy, you have all worked very hard over the
years and deserve the recognition. Keep up the good work. I can
assure you that I am always telling people about City Synergy and
will continue to do so. best wishes"
