Folk Dancing at Hassocks
Following on from the success of last years event, we have arranged a meal followed by dance on Saturday 24th September at the Hassocks just a few yards from the station.
Inspired by the popular TV programme, City Synergy organised our own version of the apprentice at Chris & Jonathan's on Saturday 9th July, you can read about the event here
Trip to Michelham Priory
At our AGM we invited members to select activities for the coming year, the top two were the Bluebell Railway and MIchelham Priory.
"Michelham Priory is a very beautiful historic property nestling deep in the Sussex countryside and offers much to interest visitors – history, exhibits, superbly kept gardens, art exhibitions, wildlife, working watermill. There is a well-stocked Gift Shop and a self-service restaurant serving teas, coffees, cold drinks, homemade soups, sandwiches, quiches, jacket potatoes with a variety of fillings and cream teas" see further details on their web site
On Saturday 16th July, we visited the priory on a wet day but that did not daunt City Synergy members, read the report about the visit to Michleham Priory here
21 of us enjoyed a great day on the Bluebell Railway during the Southern at War Weekend on May 8th 2011, the day started with a trip on the Vintage Routemaster No 472 bus evoking memories of the days when you got on the bus at the back and had a bus conductor to issue tickets. Arriving at Sheffield Park station we caught the train to Kingscote station, the journey was enlivened by a group of war re-enactors dressed in the uniforms of the day who told us about the great lengths (and costs) they went to so as to get the uniforms
At Kingscote we had time to enjoy a picnic and celebrate Valerie's 70th birthday. the weather stayed nice and everyone agreed it had been a great day
Our last Annual General meeting took place on Saturday 12th February at Patching Court in Brighton, thanks to all who attended, minutes are available on the AGM page
